#What is the difference between a Todo List and Chores?

Todo Lists are for one-off tasks — things that need doing once, with a priority level and optional due date. Examples: book MOT appointment, call the plumber, renew passport, buy birthday present.

Chores are for recurring household tasks — things that need doing regularly. Examples: hoovering, taking out bins, cleaning bathrooms, doing laundry. Chores are tracked as recurring items with a frequency, so you can see what's due and mark them as done.

    #How do I create a todo list?

    1. Go to Lists in the navigation
    2. Click Create List
    3. Give the list a name (e.g., "Home Improvement", "Weekly Errands", "Shopping")
    4. Save

You can create as many lists as you need to organise different types of tasks.

    #How do I add a task to a list?

    1. Open the relevant list
    2. Click Add Item or the compose field
    3. Enter the task description
    4. Optionally set a priority (low, medium, high) and a due date
    5. Save

    #What priority levels are available?

    Tasks have three priority levels:

    • High — urgent, needs attention soon
    • Medium — important but not urgent
    • Low — background tasks, get to it when you can

Priority levels are optional. Use them when you have mixed urgency in a list and need to see what to tackle first.

    #Can I assign a due date to a task?

Yes. When adding or editing a task, set a due date. Tasks with due dates appear in the Tasks Due Soon panel on the dashboard so upcoming items are always visible.

    #Is there a default list?

Yes. Each Circle has a default list that's used for quick-add tasks from the dashboard. When you tap + Add Task on the dashboard, the item goes into the Circle's default list. You can change which list is the default in the list settings.

#How do I mark a task as complete?

Click the checkbox next to a task to mark it as done. Completed tasks are removed from the active view. Depending on the list view, you can toggle to show completed items if you want to review what's been done.

    #Can I delete a task?

Yes. Open the task or use the delete option from the list view. Deleted tasks are removed permanently.

#How do I set up chores?

    1. Go to Chores in the navigation
    2. Click Add Chore
    3. Enter the chore name (e.g., "Hoover downstairs")
    4. Set the frequency — daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly
    5. Optionally assign it to a specific household member
    6. Save

#Can chores be assigned to specific family members?

Yes. When creating a chore, use the Assign To field to assign it to a specific Circle member. This makes it clear whose responsibility each recurring task is.

#How do I mark a chore as done?

Open the chore record and mark it as completed. SimpliHome resets the chore's due date to the next scheduled occurrence based on its frequency. This way, your chore list always shows what's currently due.

#Is there autocomplete for common chore names?

Yes. When typing a chore name, SimpliHome suggests common household chores so you don't have to type everything from scratch. Select from the suggestion or type your own custom name.

#Are lists and chores shared with my whole household?

Todo lists are shared across the Circle — all relevant members can see and edit them.

Chores are also Circle-scoped and visible to all members. Assigning a chore to a specific person makes responsibility clear without hiding it from everyone else.

#Can I create lists that only I can see?

The Personal Planner is the right place for private, personal tasks that aren't shared with the household. Todo lists are shared Circle-level resources. See the Personal Planner FAQ for more.
