#What can I use notes for?
Notes are free-form text records shared across your Circle. Common uses include:
- Important household reference information (Wi-Fi password, alarm codes, meter serial numbers)
- Notes from phone calls with providers or councils
- Holiday packing lists
- School term dates
- Medical appointment summaries
- Instructions for household visitors
- Any reference information that doesn't fit neatly into another section
#How do I create a note?
- Go to Notes in the navigation
- Click Add Note
- Enter a title and your note content
- Assign a category if applicable
- Save
Notes are shared with your entire Circle.
#Can I categorise notes?
Yes. Notes can be assigned to categories to keep them organised. You can create custom categories (e.g., "Household Info", "School", "Medical", "Holiday") and filter notes by category.
#Can I tag notes?
Yes. Notes support tagging via Spatie Laravel Tags, allowing you to add multiple descriptive tags to each note for flexible filtering and searching.
#Are notes visible to all Circle members?
Yes. Notes are Circle-scoped and visible to all members with appropriate access. If you have information that should only be seen by certain members, the Family permission level and above will cover most household needs.
#Can I edit or delete a note?
Yes. Open the note and use the Edit or Delete options. Any Circle member with edit access can update notes.
#What is the Contacts section for?
The Contacts section is your household's shared address book — people, businesses, and services your household needs to contact. Examples:
- Doctors' surgery and specialist consultants
- Schools and teachers
- Solicitor, accountant, financial adviser
- Tradespeople (plumber, electrician, builder)
- Neighbours
- Emergency contacts
- Children's friends' parents
#How do I add a contact?
- Go to Contacts in the navigation
- Click Add Contact
- Enter the contact's name, phone number, email, address, and any notes
- Save
#Are contacts shared with my whole household?
Yes. The contacts list is Circle-scoped, so all household members can access and use the shared address book.
#Can I organise contacts into categories?
Yes. Similar to notes, contacts can be categorised for easier browsing — Medical, School, Tradespeople, Emergency, etc.
#Can I search notes and contacts?
Yes. Both sections have search functionality so you can find specific notes or contacts quickly even as your library grows.
#Is there a limit to how many notes or contacts I can create?
There's no fixed limit. Add as many notes and contacts as your household needs.
