#What is the SimpliHome news feed?

The news feed is your household's shared social space — a private, Circle-scoped stream of updates, announcements, photos, and notes from your household members.

Think of it as a private family social feed. Only people in your Circle can see it. It's useful for quick updates, sharing photos, keeping extended family in the loop, and general household communication.

    #How do I create a post?

    1. Go to the News Feed (or the feed section on the dashboard)
    2. Click New Post or the compose area
    3. Type your message
    4. Choose whether the post is public (all Circle members) or private (Admins and Family only)
    5. Post

This requires Family level access or higher. Relatives and Friends cannot create posts.

#What is the difference between a public and private post?

    • Public posts are visible to all Circle members, including those with Relatives and Friends permission levels
    • Private posts are only visible to Admins and Family members

Use private posts for household-only updates you don't want extended family or friends to see. Use public posts when you want everyone in the Circle to see the update.

    #Can I comment on a post?

Yes. If you can see a post, you can comment on it. This applies to all permission levels — if a Relative can see a public post, they can leave a comment.

    To comment:

    1. Open the post
    2. Type your reply in the comment box
    3. Submit

    #Can I react to a post?

Yes. Posts support reactions (likes and similar). If you can view a post, you can react to it — regardless of whether you're a Family member, Relative, or Friend.

    #Can I delete a post?

    • Post owners can delete their own posts
    • Admins can delete any post in the Circle

If you see a post that shouldn't be there, an Admin can remove it.

#Who can see the news feed?

All Circle members can access the news feed, but with different visibility:

    • Admins and Family members — see all posts, both public and private
    • Relatives and Friends — see public posts only; private posts are hidden

#Why am I being sent to the news feed instead of the dashboard?

If your permission level is Relatives or Friends, SimpliHome redirects you to the news feed rather than the full dashboard. This is by design — the news feed is the appropriate home screen for read-only members who aren't managing household tasks.

#Can I post images or attachments?

Post content is currently text-based. For sharing documents and images with household members, use the File Manager to upload and share files within your Circle.

#Can I see who has reacted to a post?

Yes. Click on the reaction count below a post to see which Circle members have reacted and what reaction they used.

#Is the news feed private to my household?

Yes, completely. The news feed is only visible to people in your Circle. No one outside your Circle — and no one at SimpliHome — can see your household feed posts.

#Where can I learn more about the news feed?
