• Managing Your SimpliHome Account Settings and Preferences

    Your SimpliHome settings are where you personalise the experience for your household and your individual preferences. This guide covers the key settings areas and what you can configure in each.

    Go to Settings from the main navigation (usually your avatar or profile icon) to access your account settings.

    #Profile Settings

    #Personal Information

    Update your basic profile details:

    • Name — how you appear to other Circle members
    • Email address — your login email and where notifications are sent
    • Profile photo / avatar — your profile picture shown to Circle members
    • Password — change your password

    To update your profile:

    1. Go to Settings → Profile
    2. Edit the relevant fields
    3. Click Save

    #Date Format

    SimpliHome supports regional date formats. Choose the format that matches your preference:

    • DD/MM/YYYY — British format (14/03/2026)
    • MM/DD/YYYY — American format (03/14/2026)
    • YYYY-MM-DD — ISO format (2026-03-14)

    Set your preferred format in Settings → Preferences → Date Format.

    #Currency

    Set your preferred currency for financial displays (bills, budget, finances). SimpliHome defaults to British Pounds (£) but supports multiple currencies for households with international accounts or multi-currency situations.

    #Language

    SimpliHome is available in multiple languages:

    • English
    • German (Deutsch)
    • Spanish (Español)
    • French (Français)

    Change your language in Settings → Preferences → Language. This affects the interface language for your account — other household members keep their own language preference.


    #Calendar Settings

    #Connecting Google Calendar

    Link your Google Calendar for two-way sync:

    1. Go to Settings → Calendar
    2. Click Connect Google Calendar
    3. Authorise with your Google account

    #Connecting Outlook / Microsoft Calendar

    Link your Outlook/Microsoft account:

    1. Go to Settings → Calendar
    2. Click Connect Outlook
    3. Sign in with your Microsoft account

    #Your iCal Feed URL

    Subscribe to your SimpliHome calendar from Apple Calendar, a third-party app, or share with external family:

    1. Go to Settings → Calendar
    2. Copy the iCal Feed URL
    3. Use this URL in any calendar app that supports iCal subscriptions

    The iCal feed is personal to your account — keep it private.


    #Notification Preferences

    Control what you're notified about and how:

    1. Go to Settings → Notifications
    2. Toggle individual notification types on/off for both in-app and email

    #Social Login

    #Connecting Google or Microsoft Sign-In

    If you signed up with email and password but want to use Google or Microsoft sign-in instead:

    1. Go to Settings → Security or Social Login
    2. Click Connect Google or Connect Microsoft
    3. Authorise the connection

    Once connected, you can sign in using either your email/password or the social login button.

    #Disconnecting a Social Login

    If you want to remove a connected Google or Microsoft account:

    1. Go to Settings → Security
    2. Find the connected account
    3. Click Disconnect

    Note: You must have a password set before disconnecting your only social login, otherwise you'll lose access to your account.


    #Subscription Management

    The Circle Owner manages the subscription for the whole household.

    #Viewing Your Current Plan

    1. Go to Settings → Subscription
    2. See your current plan, features included, and renewal date

    #Upgrading Your Plan

    To access additional features (like Voice AI, Email Intelligence, and more storage):

    1. Go to Settings → Subscription
    2. Click Upgrade
    3. Select the plan you want
    4. Enter payment details (processed securely by Stripe)
    5. Confirm

    Your new plan activates immediately.

    #Cancelling Your Subscription

    1. Go to Settings → Subscription
    2. Click Cancel Subscription
    3. Follow the cancellation steps

    Important: Only the Circle Owner can cancel the subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.

    #Changing Payment Method

    1. Go to Settings → Subscription
    2. Click Update Payment Method
    3. Enter new card details (processed by Stripe — SimpliHome never stores card numbers directly)

    #GDPR and Data Privacy

    SimpliHome takes data privacy seriously. In your settings you can:

    #View Your Data

    Request a copy of all data SimpliHome holds about you and your Circle:

    1. Go to Settings → Privacy or GDPR
    2. Click Download My Data
    3. SimpliHome will prepare your data export and email it to you

    #Delete Your Account

    If you want to permanently delete your account and all associated data:

    1. Go to Settings → Privacy
    2. Click Delete My Account
    3. Follow the confirmation steps

    Note: Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. All your data — including Circle data if you're the Circle Owner — will be deleted.

    #Cookie Preferences

    Control which cookies SimpliHome uses:

    1. Go to Settings → Cookies
    2. Toggle:
      • Essential cookies — always on, required for the app to work
      • Analytics cookies — help SimpliHome understand how the app is used (anonymous)
      • Functional cookies — enhance your experience

    #Circle Settings (Circle Owner Only)

    If you're the Circle Owner, you have additional settings:

    #Updating Circle Name

    1. Go to Settings → Circle
    2. Update the circle name
    3. Save

    #Assigning Secondary Admin

    1. Go to Settings → Circle or Circle → Settings
    2. Select the member to promote to Secondary Admin
    3. Confirm

    #Managing Member Permission Groups

    1. Go to Circle → Members
    2. Click on a member
    3. Update their permission group
    4. Save

    Only the Circle Owner can change permission groups.


    #Security Best Practices

    Use a strong, unique password. SimpliHome stores your household's financial and personal data — treat the password accordingly.

    Enable social login with Google or Microsoft if you use those services — they handle authentication securely and you don't need to remember a separate password.

    Review who's in your Circle periodically. If a household member moves out or your situation changes, remove them from the Circle promptly.

    Check your connected calendars annually. If you've changed Google or Microsoft accounts, reconnect the calendar sync with your current account.
